This mat provides enough cushion to make a real difference vs. standing directly on the floor, but it also feels stable while you're standing on it. I don't feel as if I'm sinking into the cushion or off-balance, but my feet definitely feel better at the end of the day than they did before I started using the mat. After 1-1/2 months use, there are no visible signs of wear or permanent depressions in the cushioning; I think this will last well.

Due to injury- standing for a long time on tile is very uncomfortable on my back (and feet, and knees.) I tried this mat as well as one of the $100+ gel mats, and like this mat every bit as much as the more expensive gel mat. I've even given this mat to a few friends and family members as a house warming gift- and all really like it.
