ummmm....., March 6, 2011 By This review is from: Pilot FriXion Light Erasable Highlighter, Assorted Colors, Chisel Point, Box of Six 3-Packs, 18 Pens total (FXLC3001) (Office Product) I gave it a 1 star because it does erase, but it smears the words in text, and the highlighting fluid runs out in approx. 1-2 days of use for serious readers. This is waste of money. Hope this helps.

Not great for textbooks, March 5, 2011 By beachgirl85 (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Pilot FriXion Light Erasable Highlighter, Assorted Colors, Chisel Point, Box of Six 3-Packs, 18 Pens total (FXLC3001) (Office Product) These highlighters are great for using on notebook paper, but not textbook pages. The highlighters will smear the printed ink in the textbook. Im updating my review after a month of having these highlighters and I just want to say they suck and to not waste your money. ALL of them are dried out now and I havent even used them a lot! Im going to the store and buying some BIC highlighters.

I just came into some information that restored my faith in them. To all those purchasing these pilot erasable items (including their erasable pens), their ability to be erased lies with the fact that they utilize Thermo-sensitive ink that is removed by erasing friction. So, for some, like me, who left my highlighters in my hot car on a sunny day in Houston,TX, they may seemed to have stopped working. However, a note from their website reads: "Do not expose to extreme temperatures (<14 deg F; >140 deg F). If pen is exposed to temp that reaches 140 F, the ink will be colorless when writing. To restore color, cool to at least 14 F in freezer and the ink will again write in color."
So, I put my highlighters in the freezer (even though the note initially said do not expose the highlighter to <14deg but later says to put it in the freezer <14 F to... Read more
