After checking out several local retailers, it was hard finding a single purple highlighter without being in a package with several colors, I already had. Therefore, to find what I needed on Amazon, from Amazon, was great!!! I got the box of 12 due to the price value and of course, Amazon was also offering the shipping free. How could I beat that.

I find it VERY hard reading text highlighted by fluorescent colors. I finally found a nice pastel that does NOT darken the text so much as to cause the same contrast problems. This color is a nice pastel lavender, a touch lighter in hue than Sharpie's version of purple (in a very good way).
Four stars vs. five because I've always liked Sharpie's chisel tip better than Hi-Liter's. On the whole, the lighter hue still makes Hi-Liter the better product for my needs.

Just received these highlighters in the mail today. I had been using a Sharpie purple highlighter that was on its last leg. It was nice to finally get a fresh, brand new highlighter!
Overall, I like it quite a bit. The color has a nice saturation and a nice shade of purple. The text is quite readable, but I do think the purple is a little dark -- but nothing to worry about. As a previous reviewer said, the chisel tip is a little awkward. When trying to make a wide, bold stroke with the entire tip of the highlighter, you need to have it slanted at the same angle as the tip and press down. Not as incredibly easy as the chisel tip on Sharpies.
If not for the slightly dark color and awkward chisel tip, this would definitely be five stars.
