I clip everything from our cereal to pretzel bags and bags of crackers that I slip into plastic bags. Cheap and convenient to keep a dish of them in a kitchen drawer!

This is the LENGTH of the clip. Their capacity is only 5/8". You can see this if you click on the image to see a larger version, and read the fine-print in the little red lines.

They work fine. I got 4 boxes at a great price from Amazon - less than .10/clip. Chip bag. Cereal bags. Bookmark. Garden soil bag. Sometimes I even use it to hold pieces of paper. I put it in the same category as duct tape - though obviously nowhere near as useful. It's a multi-purpose, jack-of-many-trades clip.
